Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović, on the occasion of the indictment against Ahmet Sejdić, Ferid Buljubašić and other eleven members of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina for allegedly committed war crimes, called on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to act lawfully, independently and professionally. The Prosecutor's Office of BiH must not be a tool in the hands of those who want to destroy the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he said.
Bećirović stressed that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH urgently must stop the "brutal attack on the constitutional order of the country".
"We are in the most difficult situation since the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is not taking concrete steps with the aim of prosecuting the destroyers of the constitutional order of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Why has no one been prosecuted to date? Instead of prosecuting those who destroy the state, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH is persecuting the heroes of the defence of Goražde," Bećirović said.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the selective approach of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in the process of issuing indictments against persons suspected of committing war crimes, Bećirović recalled that the Army of Republika Srpska during the three-and-a-half-year siege of Gorazde killed 120 and wounded 428 children. 2,000 civilians were killed.
"Therefore, it is an insult to all citizens of this country the decision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to indict those who defended civilians and children. No one has been held accountable for these crimes. Although there is an "A" list submitted by the Hague Tribunal on the basis of the Rome Agreement and the Rules of the Road, BiH has submitted an "A" list. the Judiciary, the Prosecutor's Office of BiH for reasons unknown to us still ignores it," Bećirović adds.
"The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, by issuing indictments against defenders who legally defended the internationally recognized state of The Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, directly and (un)consciously revisionist influences the character of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The actions of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH directed against those who, in accordance with international and national law, defended themselves, are contrary to both human and legal logic", said the Cabinet of BiH Presidency member Denis Bećirović.
