There are no more legal obstacles to the operation of about a hundred newly built solar power plants in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina as soon as possible, which the two electric power companies have been resisting for a long time, hiding behind the fact that there are no legal requirements for this move. In fact, these obstacles were not even indicated by the recently passed set of federal electricity laws.
Requesting comment on this in the BiH Committee of the International Council on Large Electrical Systems CIGRE, portal Indikator learns that issuing connection permits for new solar power plants is the sole obligation of electric distribution companies that are expected to work more energetically and responsibly in this work.
"In the new management of Elektroprivreda BiH, the management of the power distribution should be taken over by Edisej Sjerotanović, who we believe will launch such activities very soon," said Edhem Bičakčić, president of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Committee of CIGRE.
Recall that at the gatherings of this professional association in the past year, it has been repeatedly warned about the problem of non-issuance of permits and connections for new solar power plants, which discouraged their investors and potential practically rejected.
About a hundred new power plants with a total capacity of about 50 megawatts are a serious potential in the general effort to accelerate the process of obtaining green energy in Bosnia and Herzegovina by decarbonizing the energy sector.
