With the aim of raising awareness of sustainable development and environmental protection for all of us and future generations, Sarajevo Film Festival, in partnership with Sarajevo the city of UNESCO film and the Green Club consisting of MPS/ representatives of parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme in BiH (UNDP BiH), is launching a competition for young people from all over the country called " Films for Future/Filmovi za budućnost ".
All young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina between the ages of 13 and 25 can participate in the competition. They can send their short videos/reels as lasting up to 90 seconds on how they see their contribution to environmental protection by August 11, 2023, to the info@sarajevocityoffilm.ba, with their contact details (name and surname, year of birth, contact phone and address).
Sending videos via this e-mail is mandatory, and in addition, young people can post their videos / reels on their social networks (FB and Instagram), and on that occasion use hashtags: #29thSFF #NetZero #ZajednoNapravimoRazliku.
Videos should be on one of the topics: What can young people do for a healthier and greener planet? How can I help preserve the environment? How can I make positive changes in my environment?
The authors of the top five videos will be selected by a creative jury, and the names of the winners will be announced on August 12, International Youth Day. The winners will be presented with valuable prizes and will be presented at an event that will be staged during the 29th International Children's Festival. Sarajevo Film Festival. Arrival in Sarajevo to winners living outside Sarajevo will be provided by the Green Club.
The awards will be presented at the Green Pavilion at the 29th Green Pavilion. Sarajevo Film Festival.
The winning videos will be published on social networks of Sarajevo Film Festival, Sarajevo UNESCO City of Film, as well as the Green Club and UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In recognition of the global youth movement "Fridays for Future", this competition is called "Films for Future".
In accordance with its commitment to achieving net zero mission – zero pollution, with this initiative Sarajevo Film Festival seeks to contribute to raising awareness of the protection of the planet. By incorporating sustainable practices into the Festival's actions and encouraging our audience to actively participate in it, the Festival strives to create a long-lasting positive impact on the community and the environment.
