Eighth edition of the International Festival of Literature "Bookstan. No East. No West." opened in Sarajevo in the presence of numerous figures from cultural and public life.
In her welcome speech, Deputy Mayor of Sarajevo Anja Margetić stated that this festival represents a successful story and that it is an honor that the City Administration has recognized its importance and that it supports it.
She expressed satisfaction that at tonight's opening it became apparent that Bookstan had outgrown the capacity in which it started and that it was time to find a larger space for maintenance.
Mayor of Centar Sarajevo Municipality Srđan Mandić said that it was an honor for him to be at the head of the municipality where such a festival is held and announced continued support for this event.
This year, the festival is also launching several new, special programs such as "Young Corner", "Bookstan District" and "Breakfast with the Author".
It was pointed out that "Bookstan" continues to build a platform for cooperation among cultural workers, authors, publishers and translators from various BiH. cities, and provide greater support to literature and publishing in BiH and the region.
After the opening, the book "Imaginary Balkans" by Marija Todorova was presented.
