Faruk Hadžibegić new national team selector of BiH national team
Faruk Hadžibegić (65) is the new selector of the football "A" national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was decided at today's session of the Executive Board of the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (N/FS BiH), reports Anatolija.
The Bosnian-Herzegovinian coach, in recent decades with a permanent address of residence in France, succeeded Bulgaria's Ivaylo Petev on the bench of the popularly called "dragons", whose members of the IO N/FS BiH refused to extend his contract despite the fact that he won placement in the elite UEFA Nations League "A" with the national team of BiH last year.
Second term on the bench of biH national team
This will be Hadžibegić's second term on the bench of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. He was the head coach of his country from March 11 to October 9, 1999. In seven matches with Bosnia and Herzegovina, he recorded two triumphs, as many draws and three defeats, with a goal difference of 9:9.
Once a celebrated football player of Sarajevo and the national team of the former SFR Yugoslavia in a long coaching career, among other things, he was the head of the coaching staff of Sochaux, Troyes, Dijon, Valenciennes (France), Real Betis (Spain), Gaziantepspor, Diyarbakirspor, Denizlispor (Turkiye).
He was also the selector of the National Football Team of Montenegro from July 25, 2019 to December 28, 2020, and made a success by reaching the UEFA Nations League "B" with the national team of this country.
